Davis
Recently our father had a massive heart attack while waiting to see his physician at a local clinic in Davis. He checked in for a regular appointment and sat down and went to sleep. His sleep was actually a massive heart attack that stopped his heart and breathing.
The 911 call went out, and within four minutes the firefighters from Station 31 in downtown Davis showed up and began CPR. They also defibrillated him, started his heart and his breathing and continued CPR all the way to Sutter Davis Hospital.
When he arrived at the hospital he was fairly stable and was alive. Our entire family got to see him alive, and some family members spent the night with him.
His heart damage was so severe that he did not survive, but thanks to Fire Capt. Paul Swanson and firefighters Greg Bellin, Brian Lynch and Schuyler Lacy, our entire local family got to be with him during his last day on this Earth and got to say goodbye to him as he passed.
The entire Puntillo family is eternally grateful to our brave and talented firefighters who always seem to be there when you need them. We also want to convey a special thanks to the staff of Sutter Davis Hospital who made our fatherÕs last day on Earth and his passing as comfortable as possible.
