Diana Kennedy, who has been called the most knowledgeable writer in English of Mexican cooking, will discuss her newly published book, ÒOaxaca Gusto: An Infinite Gastronomy,Ó during a presentation at UC Davis on Thursday, Oct. 28.
It will begin at 5 p.m. in the Silverado Vineyards Sensory Theater, in the Robert Mondavi InstituteÕs Sensory Building. A 6:30 p.m. food-and-beverage pairing, featuring Mexican wines and beers, will follow her presentation.
Kennedy has been a student of Mexican cooking and cuisine for more than 50 years and has published several books on the subject. Her latest spotlights the cuisine of the state of Oaxaca.
Cost for the evening will be $35 for the public and $20 for UC Davis staff, students and faculty, as well as friends of the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science.
