Amorette Casias was hired in June as an interior designer at Morse Remodeling & Custom Homes in Davis, the company announced.
Casias earned her bachelorÕs degree in design with an emphasis in interior architecture from UC Davis in 2002. She worked at Design House for two years and has been an interior design consultant for a commerical/residential design firm in Sacramento for the past seven years.
Casias has gained experience in interior design, space planning, construction documents and administration, project management and administration, furniture planning and supply for small- to medium-size commercial projects and high-end residential projects. She also has experience in estimating, specifying, purchasing and installing flooring materials.
While employed for a full-service design firm and flooring contractor, Casias had the opportunity to travel to a carpet mill in Virginia to see carpet nylon fabrication and extraction and how it is tufted into commercial broadloom carpet and carpet tile. She also has had the opportunity to travel to Chicago, Laguna Beach, Los Angeles and Italy to advance her knowledge in design/furniture products, specifications and details.
ÒShe has a keen sense of design and elegance that she hopes to continue to incorporate in all future projects,Ó a news release said.
In addition to design, she has a passion for traveling, hiking and spending time with family and close friends.
