Nominations are still being sought for the C.A. Covell Award for DavisÕ Citizen of the Year and the A.G. Brinley Award for outstanding service. The awards will be announced in early December.
The Covell Award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding service to the community in a number of areas. Criteria include leadership in civic activities, unselfish service to the community, reliability in following through on commitments and involvement in a variety of activities.
The Brinley Award recognizes outstanding service in a particular area, such as in the arts, education or health, or in a major project that benefits the city.
Nominating letters should be no longer than two pages and should include information on the nomineeÕs service and activities, including a list with dates and contact information for individuals at the organization served.
