COLORADO SPRINGS Ñ Even with a major leaguer on the mound, SacramentoÕs lineup didnÕt relax on Tuesday Ñ and it was a good thing it didnÕt.
The River Cats scored 11 runs in just six innings in a rain-shortened 11-7 victory over Colorado Springs at Security Service Field.
Oakland AÕs starter Brett Anderson made a rehab start for the Cats (54-43) and allowed the Sky Sox (44-52) to score four runs on five straight hits in the bottom of the first. But Anderson settled down and did not allow another run over the next four innings.
Meanwhile, Sacramento came back with a run in the second Ñ on a Chris Carter solo home run Ñ and then plated six more in the third. In that frame, Josh Donaldson blasted a grand slam to provide the big blow.
Jeff Baisely got three more runs for the Cats in the fifth, when he smacked a bases-clearing double and Carter added an RBI double in the sixth to put Sacramento up 11-4.
Colorado Springs started to come back with three runs in the bottom of the sixth but following that inning the rain started to come down hard. After a 30-minute delay, the game was called and Sacramento was awarded the victory.
