Construction on Second Street downtown has forced a route change for the Davis High School Homecoming Parade today.
The parade begins at 1 p.m. in Central Park, Fourth and C streets. It will head south on C Street to Third Street, east on Third Street, north on E Street, west on Fourth Street, north on C Street, west on Sixth Street, north on B Street, west on 14th Street and north on Oak Avenue to the stadium entrance at Davis High.
The Homecoming Carnival gets under way at 5 p.m. in the new gym parking lot following the Ron and Mary Brown Stadium dedication ceremony at 3:45 p.m. Promising fun for all ages, the carnival includes booths, a rock wall, games, face painting and food from Dos Coyotes and LudyÕs.
The DHS junior varsity football game against Laguna Creek starts at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity game follows at about 7:15 p.m. Halftime of the varsity game features a show complete with spirit squads, the parade of class royalty and some free giveaways.
Davis High students are invited to end the day at the Homecoming Dance, from 9:30 to midnight in the DHS multipurpose room.
