This board works together in crisis

Why vote for the Davis school board incumbents? In one of the worst economic times in our countryÕs history, this current set of school board members running for re-election has shown continued strength and fortitude.
With these members, the school board has a depth of leadership to draw on in the coming months that is necessary to carry our district through the next round of slash-and-burn budget cuts from Sacramento. We know who they are and I know they are all committed to seeing us, and more pointedly, seeing our children through the difficult times ahead.
In my opinion, now is not the time to vote for a shake-up of the Davis school board, or to risk voting for a person who might be divisive. The current board has shown it can and does work together. We know this board will work together to solve the districtÕs state-imposed economic crisis.
To use a clichŽ: When the rubber hits the road, it is good to know how people will respond. To date, this current board has responded with leadership, commitment and a priority to keep our district solvent. Please consider voting for the incumbents Tuesday.
