\n
On tap this year for the May 4-8 event will be country superstar Trace Adkins, country icon and Bakersfield native Merle Haggard and Disney actress and singer Selena Gomez, fair officials have announced.
\n
This is Adkins\’ second trip to the May Fair. He played as an opening act to Clint Black about 10 years ago. His hit songs, which include more than 20 in the Top 20 and four Grammy nods, include “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk,” “You\’re Gonna Miss This” and “Hot Mama.”

Haggard and Adkins will appear Friday, May 6, and Gomez on Saturday, May 7.
