Davis\’ very own professional soccer player, Jalil Anibaba, will greet fans, take pictures and sign

autographs on Wednesday beginning at 4:30 p.m. in an event at Soccer & Lifestyle, 517 Second St.
\n
Most of the local youth soccer teams will be there and the entire community is invited to meet Anibaba, a former Davis High star who was drafted by the Chicago Fire in the first round of the MLS draft earlier this month.
\n
Some of the local coaches who helped shape Anibaba into a world-class player also will be on hand to talk soccer.
\n
Authentic Anibaba Chicago Fire jerseys and Anibaba T-shirts will be available for sale.

Bicycling Hall of Fame

George Mount, a 1997 inductee, will be at the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame, 303 Third St., on Sunday, Jan. 30, for a talk from 4 to 5 p.m.
\n
Mount will tell stories and show photos of his days as the first modern American cyclist to race successfully in Europe.
\n
A Northern California resident since he retired in the 1980s, Mount began bike racing with Peter Rick of Velo Sport in Berkeley during the 1970s.
\n
The Hall of Fame will open at 3 p.m. on that day and is free to members.
\n
