DonÕt forget the ChildrenÕs Center

Sheila Allen stated in her candidacy profile that she would like to see the return of Head Start to help close the achievement gap in Davis. As a gentle reminder, the teachers at the school districtÕs ChildrenÕs Center would like to let the Davis community know that our program has been around since the late 1970s working diligently with our youngest and lowest-income students to lower the achievement gap long before the term became popular.

These days, you can find us at the Valley Oak campus, where we serve about 100 preschoolers from all over Davis.
