FAIRFIELD — From the “some people never learn” department comes the meeting of Kargo and Kutterer.
\n
Kargo, his full name, is a German shepherd and a K-9 cop with the Fairfield Police Department.
\n
Kutterer — his first name is Marcus — is an ex-con and alleged scofflaw whom police have been seeking for some time.
\n
Police found Kutterer, 27, Sunday evening. He did not want to be found. He leapt. He jumped. He ran. He hid. He had not learned his lesson.
\n
Fairfield police had gone to a second-story apartment on Crowley Lane looking for Kutterer, who had allegedly violated his parole.
\n
Police were at the front door, but Kutterer went out a back window and hit the ground running, according to police. Then he jumped some fences and hid in some nearby thick bushes.
\n
Kargo followed Kutterer. Kargo found Kutterer. Kargo bit Kutterer.
\n
Kutterer was cuffed and treated at the hospital before going to jail, Sgt. Kevin Carella said.
\n
The last time Kutterer had tried to hide from a police dog was in 2007, before he went off to prison after a string of auto thefts.
\n
Kutterer ran from police when they came looking for him at a Broadway Street residence. He ran. He jumped. He hid. It wasn\’t a very original hiding place. Fairfield police dog Ricco found Kutterer hiding under a nearby bed.
\n
Ricco bit Kutterer. Kutterer was cuffed and treated at the hospital before going to jail and then prison.
