In honor of Earth Day, which was Thursday, Yolo Federal Credit Union is providing a weeklong series of events for members and the community.
Each day through Arbor Day on Friday, Yolo Federal will feature a different community supporter who will be on site with educational materials and giveaways encouraging Yolo County residents to reduce their carbon footprint, in recognition of the 40th annual Earth Day. Community supporters include PG&E, Energy Change Solutions, Yolo County Waste Reduction and REC Solar.
Also, notably, Yolo Federal was recognized by the Business Environmental Resource Center as a local sustainable business in 2009.
ÒThe credit union has implemented many sustainable and cost-saving actions, and we know that even small changes can make a difference,Ó Nicole Parsons, Yolo Federal marketing coordinator and organizer of the events, said in a news release. ÒWe are excited to have the support and partnership with some local organizations to provide this valuable information to our community.Ó
