Acme takes on the Bard

Romeo (Margaret Starbuck), left, attempts to break up a fight between Mercutio (Miki Benson) and Tybalt (Eliza Buchanan) in Acme Theatre’s all-female version of “Romeo and Juliet.” The company’s two casts — all-female and traditional — will present the play Friday through Sunday and Aug. 8-11 at the Brunelle Performance Hall at Davis High School, 315 W. 14th St. The all-female shows are 7 p.m. Friday,
4 p.m. Sunday, 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10. The traditional cast performs 7 p.m. Saturday, Thursday (Aug. 8) and Friday (Aug. 9) and at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11. Seating will be limited to 90 seats arranged around the Brunelle Theatre’s stage. Tickets are $12 in advance or $14 at the door for adults, $10 in advance or $12 at the door for students/seniors.
