Art Center hosts summer guitar classes

Local residents can learn to play the guitar this summer at the Davis Art Center, 1919 F St. Elizabeth Busch will teach two five-week summer sessions (beginning and continuing) that will cover foundational guitar technique, note reading, rhythm and ensemble playing.

Classes will be offered on Mondays for ages 7-9 (3:30 to 4:15 p.m.), 10-12 (4:15 to 5 p.m.), 13-17 (5:30 to 6:30 p.m.), and adults 18 and up (6:30 to 7:30 p.m.).

The beginning session runs from June 13 to July 18, with no class July 4. The continuing session runs from July 25 to Aug. 22.

The cost for 45-minute classes is $80 for Art Center members and $90 for nonmembers. The cost for the one-hour classes is $98 for members and $108 for nonmembers. (The continuing class is $5 less, as materials continue from the previous class).
