The Crocker Art Museum is opening its doors free to the public on the third Sunday of each month, thanks to the sponsorship of Western Health Advantage. “Pay What You Wish Sunday” is part of the museum’s commitment to provide access to the community.
The first public art museum founded in the Western United States, the Crocker Art Museum, was established in 1885. The Crocker, at 216 O St. in Sacramento, serves as a primary regional resource for the study and appreciation of fine art.
The museum offers a diverse selection of exhibitions, events and programs to augment its collections of Californian, European, Asian, African and Oceanic artworks, and international ceramics.
Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays, with extended hours to 9 p.m. Thursdays. For more information, call (916) 808-7000 or visit www.crockerartmuseum.org.
