Australian troupe Circa returns with body-bending program ‘S’

Circa — a contemporary circus-style group from Down Under that visited the Mondavi Center in February 2012 — returns at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 30, with a program titled “S.”

In this program, seven performers present a physical ode to plurality that extends the possibilities of human strength and flexibility through the interplay of complex acrobatics. Think “sinuous,” “sophisticated” and perhaps a bit “sweaty” as well, given the nonstop athleticism, testing the limits of the performers’ ability.

The ensemble will fill the stage with a mélange of bodies performed to atmospheric music recorded by Kimmo Pohjonen, Samuli Kosminen and the Kronos Quartet.

Tickets are $49 general, $24.50 for students/children, available at www.mondaviarts.org or 530-754-2787.
