Guitar Mac & His Blues Express — Guitar Mac, guitar and vocals; Sal Derenzi, guitar; Mark Horner, bass; and Joe Martinico, drums — bring the Delta-style blues of B.B. King and Muddy Waters to Picnic in the Park at 5 p.m. Wednesday. The Farmers Market runs from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Guitar Mac hails from Cotton Plant, Ark., but his music is pure Mississippi Delta blues. The band has been a regular at the Sacramento Blues Festival and is a Picnic in the Park favorite.

Bring your own picnic or buy dinner at Picnic in the Park’s food fair where there’s a wide array of dinner choices, including El Mariachi Taqueria, Raja’s Tandoor, Kathmandu Kitchen, Thai Recipes, East West Gourmet, The Buckhorn, Ciocolat, Farmer’s Kitchen, Davis Creamery, Fat Face, The Hotdogger, Monticello Seasonal Cuisine, Original’s Steve’s Pizza, Upper Crust Bakery, Davis Bread & Desserts, OctoberFeast Bakery, Bare Juices and Kettlepop.

Davis Soroptimists bring their new Sudwerk beer cart and pour local beer and wine to raise money for local charities.

Children’s entertainment includes Central Park’s bicycle-powered carousel, Rocknasium’s climbing structure, bounce houses, face-painting and balloon-maker Dilly Dally the Clown.

Spring produce — asparagus, greens, lettuces, snap peas, kiwis and strawberries — plus local eggs, honey and wine fill the market, with craft booths at the north end.
