Bonanza King to play in Winters

By From page A9 | July 15, 2014

The Winters Friends of the Library summer concert series continues with a free outdoor performance by Bonanza King from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, at the Rotary Park Gazebo, on Main Street at Railroad Avenue, in front of the Community Center in Winters.

This is a change from the previous-announced lineup. EGG was originally scheduled to play but had to cancel and Bonanza King agreed to step in at the last minute.

Bonanza King, a popular Winters-based Western swing and country band, plays old-school classics and catchy originals. Fronted by songwriter and singer Kari King, Bonanza King includes Keith Cary on steel guitar, Cedar Seegar on electric guitar, Steve O’Neill on upright bass and Nick Carvajal on drums. King’s rich, expressive vocals and the veteran band members’ musical skill and obvious enjoyment produce a high-energy, fun experience for all.

The performance is part of the Winters Friends of the Library summer concert series. This year the series will continue with Los Tres de Winters playing norteño music on July 24 and Hot City playing New Orleans traditional jazz, hot swing and rumba on July 31.
