Birthday party planned for South Davis library branch

By From page A4 | October 11, 2011

All are invited to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Yolo County Library’s satellite branch at Montgomery Elementary School, 1441 Danbury St. in South Davis, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15.

The library has been open two days a week for the past year, thanks to the support of the Davis Joint Unified School District and the residents of Davis through the passage of Measure P — which increased the parcel tax that funds expanded library services, programs and facilities in Davis. Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.

“The Marguerite Montgomery Elementary School is honored that the Yolo County Library chose our school to extend their library services to South Davis,” said Nora Brazil, school librarian. “This is the beginning of a dream come true for full county library services in South Davis, and the Davis Joint Unified School District looks forward to continuing this partnership.”

The celebration will be birthday-themed and will include cake, library-related favors, a birthday story time and more for the entire family to enjoy.
