The Rev. P.G. Mathew is the author of a recently published book, “The Gospel Freedom: Romans 1-8.”

Mathew is the founder and senior minister of Grace Valley Christian Center and has been preaching the gospel in Davis since 1974. Originally a scientist from India, he holds three graduate degrees in theology from Central and Westminster theological seminaries.

A former professor of Greek and systematic theology, Mathew also has traveled widely for Christian mission interests and is the founder and president of Grace Valley Christian Academy, established in 1998.

His other books include “The Normal Church Life: An Exposition of 1 John,” “Victory in Jesus: A Feast from Joshua,” “The Wisdom of Jesus: A Life Application of the Sermon on the Mount” and “Muscular Christianity: Learning Endurance from the Book of Hebrews.” He is working on forthcoming commentaries on Acts, Isaiah and Matthew.

“The Gospel Freedom” is the first in a two-volume set on Paul’s epistle to the Romans. It is dedicated to the congregation of Grace Valley Christian Center, where the sermons were preached between January 2008 and August 2010.

Copies of the book are available through the church website, www.gracevalley.org.

Grace Valley Christian Center is at 27173 County Road 98 in rural West Davis. For more information, call (530) 756-5255.
