Bring your own uke and play along

By From page A9 | April 02, 2013

Local musicians are invited to bring their ukeleles and join in an outdoor performance at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 12, in the Corin Courtyard outside the Mondavi Center. The artist known as Uni and Her Ukelele will entertain, and the short program will include a ukelele play-along to a tune known as “Relentlessly in C.”

(Sheet music can be downloaded on the Mondavi Center website — www.mondaviarts.org, then go to the page for the Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain.)

The outdoor event is free, and the public is invited. Refreshments will be available for sale at the Fusions Fresh food truck in the courtyard.

After rehearsing “Relentlessly in C” in the Corin Courtyard, ticketholders who brought a ukelele will be invited to join the Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain in a performance of the tune in Jackson Hall. Patrons will be asked to check their ukulele cases in the lobby.
