British organist and choir master Antony Baldwin will open his California concert tour at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, at the Davis Community Church, 412 C St.

Baldwin has composed and arranged nearly 100 published organ and choir compositions. He holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from Oxford University and was awarded his doctorate in music from Durham University. ‘

Baldwin grew fascinated with the organ as a child; by age 10 he had decided to become a cathedral organist. His recitals have included performances at Westminster Abbey in London and Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. He is currently an examiner in composition for the Royal School of Church Music.

The concert is free but a free-will offering will be received. For more information, call the church office at 530-753-2894.
