By the time we get to Phenix

By March 21, 2011

The Lisa Phenix Band — featuring Lisa Phenix on guitar and lead vocals and Steve Wall on acoustic guitar, mandolin and back-up vocals — brings its unique mix of folk and American music to Picnic in the Park on Wednesday. The family-friendly event runs from 4:30 to 7:45 p.m. at the Davis Farmers Market in Central Park, Fourth and C streets. The market is full of seasonal produce, including asparagus, bok choy, greens, lettuces, herbs, carrots and potatoes, plus local free-range eggs, honey, olive oil, jams, dried fruit, nuts, flowers and garden starts. Craft booths are at the north end of the market. The international food fair runs the gamut, from Mexican to Thai to Indian cuisine, along with “pizzas with a purpose,” benefiting the Davis Farm to School Connection. Children’s entertainment includes Central Park’s bicycle-powered carousel, Rocknasium’s climbing structure, bounce houses, face-painting and balloon-maker Dilly Dally the Clown. For more information, call (530) 756-1695 or visit http://www.davisfarmersmarket.org.
