The carnival arrives in town this week and organizers are urging everyone to buy their daily passes in advance. Not only do prices go up 20 percent at the door, but a lower percentage of profits will go toward Emerson and Da Vinci junior high schools for their library technology upgrade.
The carnival runs from Thursday to Sunday at the vacant Hunt-Wesson Cannery grounds at Covell Boulevard and J Street. This year’s carnival features 17 rides for children, teens and adults, including the Zipper, Gravitron, Scrambler, Tilt and much more.
A daily pass for unlimited rides is $20 if purchased in advance at the Emerson front office, 2121 Calaveras Ave.; Fleet Feet, 615 Second St.; nestware, 207 F St.; the Davis Food Co-op, 620 G St.; and Armadillo Music, 205 F St., with an additional $2.50 service charge.
Tickets also will be sold at the Farmers Market on Wednesday.
Carnival hours are 4 to 10 p.m. Thursday, 4 to 11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday.
