Acoustic S&M — featuring Scott Pullman (six- and 12-string guitar, mandolin, percussion and vocals) and Mike Miller (six-string guitar, harmonica, percussion and vocals) — will bring 50 years of folk and rock music to Picnic in the Park on Wednesday in Central Park.
Pullman and Miller were born about 20 miles apart in New York City, but it wasn’t until the fall of 2001 that they met at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill. They have been playing together, as a duo and with others, from Oakland to Danville to Auburn and everywhere in between, ever since.
The Davis Farmers Market is open 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Summer season is in full swing with plenty of melons, apricots, nectarines, peaches, plums, greens, lettuces, avocados, tomatoes, peppers and strawberries, plus local eggs, honey, wine, beef and lamb. Crafts are at the north end of the market.
Bring a picnic dinner to enjoy on the lawn, or purchase food from one of the many vendors on-site. Davis Soroptimists will pour Sudwerk beer and wine to raise money for local charities.
Children’s entertainment includes Central Park’s bicycle-powered carousel, Rocknasium’s climbing structure, bounce houses, face-painting, pony rides by Greenwich Acres and balloon-maker Dilly Dally the Clown.
