The Peter Franklin Band — Bud Dangl, vocals; Bob Byrd, harmonica; Peter Franklin, vocals, banjo, guitar and drums; Kevin Twitchell, guitar; Wayne Hagin, vocals, mandolin, percussion, jugs; Daniel Crain, guitar; Patrick Crain, bass guitar; and Chris Fletcher, saxophone and keyboard — will bring their unique mix of classic rock music to Picnic in the Park on Wednesday. The event runs from 5 to 8 p.m. in Central Park, Third and C streets. Davis. Since 2001, the band has brought its high-energy classic rock with folk, country and western influences to Pig Day at Davis Farmers Market, the California Marathon and the Cotati Farmers Market in Sonoma County. The market is full of seasonal produce, including asparagus, bokchoy, greens, lettuces, herbs, carrots and potatoes plus local free-range eggs, honey, olive oil, jams, dried fruit, nuts, flowers and garden starts. Craft booths are at the north end of the market. The food fair offers goodies from pizza to pasta to Popsicles. Children’s entertainment includes the bicycle-powered carousel, Rocknasium’s climbing structure, Bouncing Bungalows, face-painting and balloon-maker Dilly Dally the Clown. For more information, call (530) 756-1695 or visit http://www.davisfarmersmarket.org.
