Classical guitarist to play at Davis Arts Center

Lawrence Ferrara will perform as part of the fifth annual Classical Guitar Series at 8 p.m. Friday, June 27, at the Davis Arts Center, 1919 F St. Ferrara’s program includes work by Jean-Philippe Rameau, Venezuelan composer/guitarist Antonio Lauro and Argentine tango composer Astor Piazzolla.

He will joined by pianist Joan Nagano to perform J.S. Bach’s “Trio Sonata” and Joaquin Rodrigo’s “Fantasia for a Gentleman.”

Tickets are $15 for general admission, $10 for students and seniors and $5 for children 12 and under. They will be available at the door beginning at 7:30 p.m.. or in advance online at http://www.davisartscenter.org/events/event/lawrence-ferrara.

The next program in the series will be the celebration of the seven-string guitar at 7:07 p.m. Monday, July 7, organized by Matthew Grasso. For more information or to purchase tickets for this event, visit davisartscenter.org.
