Andrew Corbett, with special guests Joe Craven and Laura Sandage, will perform at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at Monticello Seasonal Cuisine, 630 G St. Doors open at 5 p.m.
The concert is a fundraiser for the Davis-based nonprofit Yolo Hospice. Yolo Hospice provides expert and compassionate hospice care, community bereavement support and public education about end-of-life issues.
Rhonda and Tony Gruska, owners of Monticello Seasonal Cuisine, have a personal connection with the organization: “Yolo Hospice is a wonderful organization. When Grandma Lura was diagnosed with terminal cancer, they were there for her, us and the kids. Illness, death and dying are always difficult, but Yolo Hospice empowered us to not only accept, but to fully participate in the final physical journey of our beloved.”
Corbett will perform a set of his original songs, as well as a set of his favorites by other songwriters including Richard Shindell, Bruce Cockburn and Kate Wolf.
Craven, perhaps best known for his support of music in Davis schools through the annual “Home for the Holidays” concert, is an award-winning educator and was a fiddler for David Grisman for almost 17 years.
Sandage, a local singer/songwriter and facilitator of community-based music, will accompany on upright bass and vocals. Gemma Vannover also will sing backup vocals.
There is a suggested donation of $20.
