For several years, the Mondavi Center has featured an annual visit by “Curtis On Tour” ensembles featuring advanced students (and recent graduates) of the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia — and they’re coming back on Sunday, March 23, at 2 p.m. in the Mondavi Center’s Vanderhoef Studio Theatre.

This year’s tour will feature pianist Di Wu, a 2005 Curtis graduate, performing side by side with a student wind quintet in a program to include Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Quintet for Piano and Winds (K. 452, from 1784) and Francis Poulenc’s spirited Sextet (from the 1930s).

Also on the program will be “Summer Winds,” a piece for six wind instruments by American composer Samuel Barber, a 1934 Curtis grad, and “Summer Shimmers” by Jennifer Higdon, who earned a diploma from Curtis in 1988, joined the faculty in 1994 and won a Pulitzer Prize as a composer in 2010.

Tickets are $39 general, $17.50 for UC Davis students, available at www.mondaviarts.org or 530-754-2787.
