DAC’s ‘Nutcracker’ features familiar dancers

The Davis Art Center’s full-length ballet production of “The Nutcracker,” which features local dancers and some returning students, will be presented at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 23-24, and 12:30 and 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25.

All performances are at the Veterans’ Memorial Center, 203 E 14th St. Tickets are $15 per person and are available at the Davis Art Center, 1919 F St., by calling 530-756-4100 or at the box office 30 minutes before each performance.

This season, the role of Clara will be shared by Margaret Yang, Olivia Stroud and Sarah Nguyen. They will be partnered by Kris Kazaks and Aaron Lum.

The lead flower in the evening performances will be played by Kaitlin Coppinger, who spent this summer studying with the Joffrey Ballet and a month with the Bolshoi Ballet. She will be joined with former students Katie Magliano, who also spent a month with Joffrey Ballet, Michaela Duyyar and Jillian Uejio.
