Davis artist teaches at Crocker Museum

By From page A11 | February 01, 2013

Marie-Therese Brown, a Davis artist and member of The Artery, will offer an introduction to acrylic painting class for young artists ages 9 to 12 through the Crocker Art Museum in conjunction with the Gregory Kondos exhibition opening Feb. 24.

Students will use a sketchbook to plan compositions, create preliminary drawings with vine charcoal and practice the basics of acrylic painting and color mixing. Students then will visit the exhibition and create their own paintings inspired by Kondos’ vibrant paintings.

The class will take place at the museum, 216 O St. in Sacramento, on four consecutive Saturdays from Feb. 16 to March 9. Crocker class catalogues are available at The Artery, 207 G St. in downtown Davis.
