By From page A11 | March 11, 2014

The Davis Chamber Choir, a group of approximately 30 male and female singers directed by Andrew Hudson, presents a spring program of English and German polyphony — comparing pairs of works from similar time periods in each country. Featured will be singing works by J.S. Bach “(Jesu Meine Freude”), Henry Purcell (“Hear My Prayer, O Lord”), Anton Bruckner (“Os Justi” and “Ave Maria”), Edward Elgar (“Weary Wind of the West”), Charles Villiers Stanford (“Justorum Animae”), Hugo Distler (“Ich wollt, dass ich daheime war”), and Eric Whitacre (“With a Lily in Your Hand”). The concert will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 14, at Davis United Methodist Church, 1620 Anderson Road. Suggested donation is $10; parking is free. For information, call 530-902-0331.
