Davis Community Chorale will sing in Woodland

In honor of Woodland’s Stroll Through History, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will host a concert presented by the Davis Community Chorale at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6. The church is at 625 W. Gibson Road, at the corner of Gibson Road and Cottonwood Street, in Woodland.

Admission is free, but good-will offerings will go directly to support the Chorale, a community music ensemble whose varied repertoire ranges from Renaissance a cappella pieces to choral works by modern composers accompanied by professional instrumentalists.

“So after your ‘Stroll,’ take a break for the heat and come join us,” a news release said.

The Davis Chorale was founded in 1978 as a community chorus, providing an opportunity for adults to sing oratorio, sacred and secular works. Members include small business owners, professors, students, state workers, engineers, music teachers and retirees.

Besides local concerts, the Chorale has sung internationally in Vienna, the Czech Republic, Germany, United Kingdom, Ireland and Italy. For more information on the Chorale, visit davischorale.org.

A “cookie feast” will follow the performance across the courtyard in St. Paul’s Fellowship Hall.
