Davis resident Sue Sheya will be the featured performer for the Music at Noon Concert Series in Sacramento at noon May 1  at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1300 N St. in Sacramento.

Since 2002, audiences have entered Westminster’s beautiful Byzantine-Romanesque sanctuary every week for free music. This long-running concert series is generally booked more than two years in advance. This will be Sheva’s second featured performance for the series in the past two years.

The program, titled “Flute by the Numbers,” reflects the versatility of the flute as a solo and ensemble instrument from duo to orchestra capable of playing all musical genres. Yolo county musicians Bryce Holmes, bass, and Don Moe, drums, along with Sacramento pianist Jason Sia, will then join Sheva in performing the entire “clazzical” Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio by Claude Bolling.
