Davis Shakespeare Ensemble opens with ‘Macbeth: The Radio Play’

Davis Shakespeare Ensemble kicks off its third season with “Macbeth: The Radio Play,” an original version of Shakespeare’s haunting tragedy that will offer the audience an engrossing sonic experience. The ensemble will be inspired by the format of 1930s radio plays, featuring unique live sound effects and an original score by Richard Chowenhill. This production is directed by Rob Salas and Gia Battista.

The show runs from Oct. 24 to Nov. 3, with performances at 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays at the UC Davis Arboretum Gazebo, 1 Garrod Drive.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students and seniors and $10 for children 12 and under. Tickets for the preview performance on Wednesday, Oct. 24, are discounted by $5. To purchase tickets, visit www.shakespearedavis.com or call 530-802-0998.
