DHS bands present free concerts

By April 6, 2011

The Davis High Band program will offer a pair of free concerts to thank community members for their support of music education and encourage the passage of Measure A.

The performance at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 17, will feature the Davis High Jazz Band, recently back from the Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival, as well as music by student Jazz Combo groups.

At 7:30 p.m Tuesday, April 19, the Davis High Symphonic Band will share the stage with bands from Emerson, Holmes and Harper junior high schools at the Secondary Concert. The Tuesday concert will feature selections from “Riverdance,” featuring a cast of more than 40 drummers.

Both concerts will take place at the Brunelle Performance Hall on the Davis High School campus, 315 W. 14th St.  For more information, call (530) 219-0841.
