Local music enthusiasts have a two more chances to hear offerings from various Davis High School singing groups.
The Spring Choral Concert is at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 30, in the Brunelle Performance Hall at DHS, 315 W. 14th St. The concert will feature the Advanced Treble Choir, Concert Choir and DHS Madrigal Singers. All three choirs are directed by Karen Gardias.
This performance, formally known as the Pops Concert, will feature soloists, duets and full choirs. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
Tickets may be purchased in advance for $6 at Watermelon Music, 207 E St., or for $8 at the door. The box office opens at 6:15 p.m.
The Madrigal Singers also will perform a benefit concert at 7 p.m. Monday, June 10, at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, 1017 11th St. in Sacramento. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted with gratitude.
A portion of the proceeds collected will be donated to Autism Speaks and some will defray costs of the Madrigals’ trip this summer to Rome and Sorrento, Italy, where concerts are planned in the Sistine Chapel, at St. Peter’s Cathedral and in a Cistercian Abbey.
