Wake up your barbecue appetite and enjoy the festivities Saturday at Dixon’s second annual Grillin’ and Chillin’ Rib and Chili Cook-Off, an old-fashioned street fair sponsored by the Downtown Dixon Business Association. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Highway 113 in downtown Dixon.
Visitors are invited to taste the chili entries and vote for first-, second- and third-place winners. Barbecued pork ribs also will be available for purchase.
The festival featurs a craft fair, live music, a car show and a children’s area in Women’s Improvement Club Park. There, kids will find the kid-size “Silveyville Express,” brought by the Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, as well as pony rides, face painting, a giant water slide, a petting zoo and a watermelon-eating contest.
Visitors are asked to leave their dogs home; only service animals will be permitted.
