The Davis Musical Theatre Company announces the auditions for the Stephen Sondheim’s musical, “Follies,” at 7:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday, Nov. 18-19, with callbacks Tuesday, Nov. 20. The auditions will take place at DMTC’s Performing Arts Center, 607 Peña Drive.
With direction by Steve Isaacson and choreography by Jacob Montoya, “Follies” is a seven-time Tony Award winner about two couples who reunite on the eve of the demolition of their beloved theater. The show centers on the couple’s dreams, the harsh realities of times and the uncertainty of the future.
Auditioners should wear comfortable dance clothes and shoes, and bring sheet music of a song they are prepared to sing (not from the show). A piano accompanist will be provided; no recorded music or a cappella singing is permitted.
Rehearsals for “Follies” begin Sunday, Nov. 25, with performances running for four weeks, Jan. 4-27, with a special performance on New Year’s Eve.
