The Davis Musical Theatre Company announces auditions for Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic musical “Oklahoma!” at 7:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday, Feb. 24-25, at the DMTC Performing Arts Center, 607 Peña Drive. Callbacks will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26.
Male roles include Curly (baritone/tenor), Will Parker (baritone/tenor, must sing and dance), Jud Fry (bass-baritone, no dancing), Ali Hakim, Andrew Carnes (tenor — F to high F), Ike Skidmore (baritone), Corn Elam and Curly in the ballet (featured solo dancer).
Female roles include Laurey (Broadway soprano), Ado Annie (Broadway belt, must sing and dance), Aunt Eller (mezzo), Gertie Cummings (high-pitched whiny voice) and Laurey in the ballet (featured solo dancer).
The show will be directed and choreographed by Jan Isaacson. Please bring a prepared song (not from the show, no taped music or a cappella, please) to sing and dance. An accompanist will be provided.
Performances will be at 8:15 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:15 p.m. Sundays, from April 19 through May 12.
