The 2011 Best of Broadway musical revue, “Musical World,” is preparing for its 38th season of dazzling song-and-dance productions at its new home with the Fair Oaks Theatre Festival as co-producers.
The shows will be at 7:30 p.m., on Sept. 16-18 and 23-35 and Sept. 30-Oct. 2 at the Fair Oaks Theatre Festival, 7991 California Ave. in Fair Oaks. Doors at the outdoor theater open one hour before each show.
“Musical World” features a cast of 150 performers singing and dancing under the stars to the most memorable tunes of the Broadway stage, old and new.
This year’s ticket prices have been discounted to allow everyone, even those who have never seen a Broadway show or traveling company, to enjoy the best of Broadway. Tickets are $20 general, $18 for students and senior citizens, and $15 for children.
David L. MacDonald, Best of Broadway founder, will return as the show’s producer and director. Choreography will be by Sam Williams, Sara Rewinkle, Tonya Kageta, Kourtney Spenser, Gino Platina and Sarah Williams, with choral direction by Richanne Rooper.
The musical direction for the show and its live band is by Erik Daniells; he recently performed the same duties for Music Circus’ “Anything Goes” and “I Do, I Do.”
