Festival screens short French films

The Sacramento French Film Festival will present its fourth annual French Short Film Screening at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Verge Center for the Arts, 625 S St. in Sacramento.

The program will include the 2011 Oscar-nominated “Madagascar” and the animated film “Carnet de Voyage,” as well as a selection of favorites from previous festival editions. All films are presented in French with English subtitles. There will be a no-host wine, beer and pastis bar, and DJ Christophe will play French music after the screening.

Tickets are $5, with proceedings benefiting the upcoming Sacramento French Film Festival, June 17-26 at the Crest Theater, and the Verge Center for the Arts. For more information, visit http://www.SacramentoFrenchFilmFestival.org or call (916) 455-9390.
