Fitz Gibbon exhibit at Sacramento gallery

A solo exhibition by ceramic artist and teacher Linda S. Fitz Gibbon, a longtime Davis resident, is on view this month at the B. Sakata Garo Fine Arts Gallery, 923 20th St. in Sacramento.

Fitz Gibbon will be honored at a preview reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 10, and at a “Second Saturday” reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 12.

Fitz Gibbon’s work is in the collection of five museums, including the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento and the Di Rosa Art Preserve in Napa. Her publications include “Confrontational Ceramics” and “500 Figures in Clay.”

The Pence Gallery, at 212 D St. in downtown Davis, recently presented Fitz Gibbon with the 2011 Community Artist Award.
