By August 2, 2011

Visitors to RootStock, 22 Main St. in downtown Winters, on Friday will enjoy a performance by The Flatland String Band, featuring Mary Neri King on violin, Jamie Knapp on guitar and Rick Palkovic on guitar and mandolin. The concert will run from 6 to 8 p.m.

Known for their vocal performances, on Friday evening the band members will explore their instrumental side, performing music from South America, Europe and the Great American Songbook.

“Venture with them from Celtic classics to Cole Porter, with stops along the way for Brazilian choro, bossa nova, straight-ahead jazz and a classical piece or two,” a spokesman says.

Wine and olive oil will be available for tasting. For more information, visit http://rootstockgifts.com.
