Four locals sing at Carnegie Hall

By From page A9 | June 06, 2013

The Sacramento Valley Sweet Adelines International Chorus — which boasts four local singers — has been invited to perform in Carnegie Hall in New York City. Laurie Halen, Judy Halloran, Michelle Igo and Mary Surkala will join 74 other women on stage. Their songs will be reflective of barbershop music as well as contemporary a cappella in four-part harmony.
The chorus recently placed second in the Sweet Adelines Regional Competition in Reno.
