Free flamenco/classical guitar performance planned

By May 2, 2011

On Wednesday, May 11, Watermelon Music and Orpheus Valley Guitars will bring internationally acclaimed guitarist Roberto Corrias back to Davis for a free performance at 7 p.m.

Corrias received his degree in music with an instrumental specialization in guitar from the Italian Conservatory of Music. He refined his academic studies, attending Castres University of Music in France, and perfecting his artistic specialization through collaborative encounters with Spain’s best-known artists of classical and flamenco guitar in Seville, Cordoba, Granada and Jerez.

He has made professional recordings for French, Tunisian, Spanish and German television, making headlines with positive reviews from entertainment critics in Italian national and European international newspapers. With numerous concerts behind him, Corrias continues to tour as a solo performer, and in artistic collaboration, throughout Europe, North Africa and, more recently, the United States.

This performance will take place at Watermelon Music, 207 E St. in downtown Davis. For more information, call (530) 758-4010. For a sample of Corrias’ playing, visit http://www.robertocorrias.com.
