Free music Friday at RootStock

By From page A7 | March 20, 2013

RootStock is hosting a free concert from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, featuring The Hey Nows!, an acoustic trio that combines power pop with Americana to create a sound that it calls popabilly. RootStock is at 22 Main St. in downtown Winters.

The band plays a range of bitter and sweet originals and cover tunes, mixing obscure gems by the likes of Crowded House, Steve Earle, and The Band with well-known classics from Joe Jackson, Tom Petty and The Beatles.

Based in Yolo County, The Hey-Nows! feature Lee Milhous (six- and 12-string guitar), Roger Trotton (mandolin, guitar) and Nicolo Scozzari (lap steel, lead guitars).

For more information, call RootStock, at 530-794-6008.
