Get ready for the Great California Paint Out

By From page A11 | September 17, 2013

The Great California Paint Out will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21.

The workshop costs $25 and gives artists an opportunity to paint throughout downtown Davis in groups or individually.

Those wishing to learn technique may work alongside one of several master painters: Marti Walker, Leslie Toms, Philippe Gandiol, Chella Gonsalves, Marie Therese Brown, Mike Bagdonas, Deladier Almedia, Louis La Brie and Myron Stephens.

Artists working in all media are welcome, and any subjects available for observation are welcome. After the painting session is over, all participants’ work will be hung at the John Natsoulas Gallery.

There will be a free opening reception from 7 to 10 p.m. at the gallery, in which there will be a silent auction where the work will be sold. The master painters then will jury the work that is being exhibited and awards will be given out by the Utrecht Art Supply.

Refreshments and live music are planned.
