By From page A15 | December 28, 2012

Tapestries from the fourth-generation, award-winning weaver D.Y. Begay will be on display at the Gorman Museum at UC Davis from Jan. 8 through March 15. There is an artist’s reception at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, in the museum at 1316 Hart Hall, followed by a 4:30 p.m. lecture at 2 Wellman Hall, next to Hart Hall.

Begay creates tapestries with a unique blend of traditional Navajo weaving techniques and contemporary design by capturing the changing light, silhouettes and colors of her homestead in Tselani, Ariz.
