Pablo Cruise will headline a daylong concert Sunday, April 21, at Nelson’s Grove in Woodland to raise funds for programs benefiting women and children in the community. The concert, “Groovin’ in the Grove,” is presented jointly by the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center of Yolo County and Soroptimist International of Woodland.

The all-day, family-friendly music festival begins at 11 a.m., with opening act Beam taking the stage at noon. Beam is a local cover band playing hits by Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Doobie Brothers, Tom Petty and Peter Frampton.

Grooveline, the area’s premier old school and R&B band, brings its mix of funk, R&B and Latin tunes to the stage at 2 p.m. Grooveline is known for covering such bands as Santana; Kool & The Gang; and Earth, Wind & Fire, as well as Michael Jackson and Prince.

Pablo Cruise will take the stage at 4 p.m. The pop-rock band was founded in San Francisco in 1973; its 1977 album “A Place in the Sun” launched it into the mainstream music scene. With a hit single, “Whatcha Gonna Do?” and the title track, the album peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard charts. Other chart hits followed, including “Love Will Find a Way” and “Don’t Want to Live Without It,” both recorded in 1978.
